SailPoint adds a kill switch and discovery for unsanctioned AI agents
At Navigate 2026, SailPoint introduced tools that find unsanctioned AI agents inside a company, manage their permissions at runtime and can stop them instantly.
The release covers so-called shadow AI discovery, time-limited access, an instant kill switch and audit-ready evidence reports. SailPoint cites its own survey: 79% of enterprises run agents in production, but only 2% have tools built to govern them.
Analysts note that some features act on sessions rather than the agent itself, and that other vendors are competing for the same governance layer.
What it means for companies
The more agents a company runs, the more it matters what each one may do. A record of every step and a way to stop an agent instantly should be standard from day one.
